Elysium Max Exoskeleton

A full-scale replica of the exoskeleton frame worn in the movie Elysium (2013) by Max Da Costa. A few parts differ from their screen appearance to introduce interesting detail but most have been modeled based on photographs and verified from several different angles.

All STL/OBJ exports use millimeter units. Build volume is 5,592,770 mm^3.

  • print - contains STL exports of individual parts
  • instructions - contains a PDF with build instructions
    • src - source InDesign file w/links used to export the instructions PDF
  • assembled - contains high-poly STL and OBJ exports for the assembled exoskeleton
  • src - contains Autodesk Inventor parts (.ipt) and assemblies (.iam)
    • Assemblies - contains assemblies
      • Pistons - contains assemblies for each unique piston pair
    • External - contains parts modeled after existing real-world objects so that they can be referenced in Exoskeleton assembly
    • Pistons - contains piston parts
    • Design - contains original drawings used at starting stage of the project
  • render - contains 3D renders to show assembled parts at a glance
  • view - contains low-poly OBJ export of the entire exoskeleton with ambient occlusion and UV coordinates (for real-time 3D rendering)
  • build - contains photographs to show assembled parts at a glance
  • references - contains reference photographs used to model all parts in this project
